Anzack, Betty Rae, beloved
mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Torrance, CA. Born in Detroit,
Michigan, Betty was 74 years old and a 50-year resident of
Torrance. Betty was a woman of many passions and loved having
fun. She loved going to the horse track, betting on the ponies
with her friends, and she could shoot a mean game of 8-ball.
Betty was an avid Steven King reader and loved her movies. She
had a wicked sense of humor and loved a good laugh. Betty
loved to cook and passed on many of her famous recipes; one of
which was her "World Famous" Potato Salad. Betty's greatest
passion was her family and friends. She is survived by long
time companion, David Gehringer, Daughter, Dawn (Doug) Anzack
Ayers of Redondo Beach, CA, Daughter, Denise (Richard) Wood of
San Marcos, CA, Daughter, Debbie Anzack of Roseville, CA, Son,
Joseph (DeeDee) Anzack Sr. of Torrance, CA, eight
grandchildren and one great grandchild. Betty is preceded in
death by husband Joseph Anzack, Jr., daughter Daphne Jo Anzack
and grandson Cpl. Joseph John Anzack, Jr. She will be missed
by all who loved her. A gathering of family & friends will be
held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from
4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will also be
held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10:00
A.M. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho
Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
donations may be made in Betty's name to either the Cpl.
